About Us

Our mindset is simple. Healthy ecosystems provide healthy food, and it all starts with the soil. Well functioning soil ecosystems grow healthy plants, healthy plants create healthy animals and healthy animals produce healthy food.

We believe that food should be eaten with purpose. In choosing to eat food that comes from a system that enhances biodiversity and encourages natural ecosystems we can all easily contribute on a daily basis to both the environment and our health.

We recognise that the food we eat has an impact on the ecosystem, some of them are positive but most our current food systems are negative.

We believe that all animals can have a positive role to play in an ecosystem. Our animals are managed in a way to mimic the role of not extinct animals for the benefit of the ecosystem. An example is cows being herded as one large group instead of herds of historic mega grazers such as the Tarpan and Aurochs, moving as one trampling and eating vegetation as they go. When animals are allowed to play their role in the ecosystem nature thrives. Pigs allowed to rootle followed by birds scavenging for worms, the soil they disturb allows space for a variety of plants to establish, the muck they leave behind to be colonised by invertebrates and the nutrients within recycled back into the soil.

Does your food have a positive impact? If you wish the food you eat to have had a positive impact on an ecosystem always ask yourself how it has been reared and where it is from.
